Looking for a joyful dose of inspiration this summer? Step into the wonderfully eclectic world of Fun A Day Dundee, where fun is the driving force of creativity.
This year’s FADD exhibition is the vibrant, feel-good result of a city, and a global community coming together to make something, anything, every day (or as close as possible!) throughout January. Whether it’s painting, photography, knitting, journaling, dancing, or even cereal-based art (yes, really!), participants spend the month following their creative impulses and documenting their journey.
Now it’s time to celebrate the results in one of our favourite places: Blend Dock Street Dundee.
What Is Fun A Day Dundee?
Fun A Day Dundee is a community of creatives passionate about embracing the fun every day. In January we have a simple mission: create something fun every day(ish). Document, share, keep it personal, connect with others, fit it into your schedule, do something different each day, focus on one thing, learn a skill, take time on a hobby… Whatever suits you! It’s inclusive, supportive, and completely free—no experience necessary.
Founded in the U.S. and now one of the few UK-based Fun A Day projects, FADD has been running in Dundee since 2011. Over the years, it’s grown into a diverse, welcoming hub for artists, hobbyists, students, families, and curious newcomers of all ages. From toddlers to retirees, everyone is welcome here.
🧵 Expect the Unexpected at the Exhibition
The annual exhibition is the colourful finale to a month of creativity—and it’s open to everyone. You’ll find:
- Paintings, illustrations, and digital art
- Photography and film
- Textile crafts like crochet and knitting
- Experimental pieces using recycled materials
- Poetry, short stories, and creative journaling
- Interactive displays and personal challenges
- Performances, workshops, and silly bits

Blend cafe is a big supporter of local communities, people, artists, makers, musicians and are a homely place for the FADD team. Grab a proper coffee and some homemade cake while you catch up with friends/a book/work in this gem of a setting.
